HEALTHCARE

The Goal

Optimal health means that your body and mind are in balance which is hard to do in modern society as our nervous system is rarely at peace and that results in inflammation which is the basis of all illness.

Conclusion: Less is More

reminder: less is more

THE CHALLENGE

Our physical health is deteriorated by what we consume and what surrounds us: diet, drugs, metals, pesticides, preservatives, colours, packaging, contaminated food, water, soil and microplastics. These are embedded in modern life and difficult to avoid.

This toxicity is not just impacting our physical bodies, but also impacts our mental health. Excessive technology plays a role in mental anxiety.

Mental & Spiritual Health

Mental health problems today stem from many sources: fractured families, weak community ties, financial stress, consumer pressure, poor diet, lack of exercise, and the decline of shared beliefs. Technology adds to this through constant alerts, social media comparison, fake portrayals, and image-driven dating with the illusion of endless choice.

Shallow materialism replaces real relationships, instant gratification replaces depth, and without belief or purpose many drift into nihilism and pretence (Fakebook).

Physical Health

Environmental burdens include microplastics and ‘forever chemicals’, heavy metals, mold, and air and water pollution. Behavioural and systemic drivers compound this: sedentary lives, ultra-processed diets, disrupted sleep, and screen-time displacement, overmedicalisation and polypharmacy with side-effects and interactions; fragmented primary care and weak prevention; unsafe housing and transport design that discourage activity.

CORE HEALTHCARE SOLUTION

LESS IS MORE

Remember, it means stripping back the excess - choosing substance over show, clarity over chaos, and living with more simplicity, authenticity and purpose (meaning).

In the context of physical health, it means balance in your diet, exercise, and less exposure to toxic products and environments.

MENTAL HEALTH

Control your environment

Tackling Over-Medication at Home

Control your environment

Our health depends on controlling the environment we live in. Indoor air often contains more pollutants than outside. Focus on what you can control: ventilation, humidity, and chemical exposure. Keep air clean, fix damp, and cut synthetic products. A healthy home environment directly supports a healthy body and mind.

Prioritise non-drug options. Create a single medicines list and appoint one lead prescriber. Book an annual medication review to deprescribe where benefits no longer outweigh harms. Prioritise non-drug options first: sleep, diet, exercise, physio, therapy. Avoid repeats without review, check for duplicates and interactions, and regularly update the list after every visit.
